Mom: "Ella, stop playing with mommy's decor"

Mom: "Ella, don't do it! Don't take that bow out of your hair"
Ella (what I think she's thinking): "I'm going to do it anyway, slowly but surely"

Mom: "Ella, stop stealing my phone and chewing on it"
Ella: "Whatever" (she cries when we don't let her play with our phones or laptops, arg!)

Mom: "Ella, I told you not to climb the stairs"
Ella: Hmm-hm-hm-hm-hm (as she sways her hips)

Mom/Dad: "Ella, stop playing in Otis' water bowl"
Ella: "I'll do what I want until you come get me"
