Doc Visit Update

Today we had our monthly check-up. Overall, it went pretty well (Ella Grace’s heart beat was at a steady 146 bpm and we are right on target with measurements) but I received the dreaded “you aren’t gaining enough weight” talk. Of course, I’m a little concerned (ok, very concerned) but let her know that my weight fluctuates daily (up and down 5 lbs) and that just a few days ago, I was weighing 4 lbs heavier. So now, I’m going to start paying more attention to what/how often I’m eating (I already eat like a pig!) and hope I pack on some lbs. over the holidays. We see the doctor again in 3 weeks (Jan. 6) and then bi-weekly after the next visit. At my next appointment, I will have some lab tests and be tested for gestational diabetes. I also received a packet today with a patient pre-registration form I have to fill out by our next visit (scary!) as well as some information on pediatricians to look into so that we can get baby Ella Grace’s first doctor’s appointment on the books!

I feel great and Ella’s kicking like crazy but today has been a little discouraging. I have a feeling Brian’s going to start shoving food down my face daily! Tomorrow brings another day and week 23 in our pregnancy! We’re supposed to have a snow storm come through this area tonight so we are in for some REALLY cold weather over the next week. It’s down to the 20’s and 30’s now and will continue to drop each day! Cold weather is one thing I don’t miss about TN. It’s usually very mild in Seattle.

Oh, and if I haven't shared with you enough, I CAN'T WAIT TO COME HOME!!! It will be nice to have a break from Seattle. 9 more days!!!
