The weekend before school started, we headed to Galveston which is about 5 hours from our house. I found it to be a cute little beach town with really pretty architecture. Although I haven't been to NOLA, it reminded me of pictures I've seen mixed with the architecture I've seen in Savannah, GA.
On our way
Kellen rolls in style. We arrived around 11 and he walks in the lobby with his Sissy's pink sparkly Minnie luggage and sunglasses. Everyone thought he was a hunk!
The first day, we visited the Flight Museum before heading back to our hotel to enjoy the beach and pool. The beach was ok. Too much seaweed for us. And, we're a bit spoiled with the crystal clear blue Gulf coast waters so the kids didn't want to get in the "dark" water. The views were still pretty. So, after about 10 minutes on the beach, we headed back to the pool and stayed there the remainder of the trip.

Best picture I could get of them together
We attempted to eat at a restaurant other than McAlister's but the waits were too long and kids were fussy. So, back to McAlister's. We then headed to Pleasure Pier which was super fun!
Up in the chairs together
This was the biggest bit of chaos. i think it took 5 rounds of moving kids to make this work to where both Ella and Kellen could ride. I believe the issue was that Kellen was too little and needed a parent. And why Brian ended up in the bed of the truck.
Up in the ferris wheel
And, Ella rode the chairs by herself before we headed out at 11 p.m. Long day!
We hung out by the pool on Sunday until about 12:30 then headed to The Mosquito for brunch/lunch before heading home.
It was a nice getaway!
