Ella Grace's birthday present from us was a trip to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. We had so much fun!!
We arrived Thursday and swam and enjoyed Cinco de Mayo with margaritas for the adults and apple tinis for Ella (apple juice - one of the waitors called her juice this and I thought it was cute).
Friday, we headed to Disneyland and we will just say that Ella was pretty much no fun. She has 2 molars coming in and the only time she was happy was the 5 or so minutes we were on a ride. She screamed and cried in every single line we stood in and for those of you who have been to Disney parks, the lines are about 30 minutes long. So just imagine. That day was short lived but we did rides such as Buzz Lightyear, Nemo's submarine adventure, a carousel, and Dumbo. We left early afternoon and opted to stay at the hotel the rest of the day and order in pizza for dinner.
Saturday was MUCH better! After a dose of Tylenol, we started our morning with a Disney Princess breakfast at Ariel's Grotto in California Adventure Park. It was quite the experience (and there are some crazy parents!). Now, I know why adults say to drink mimosas. It was cute though and Ella loved it! She walked down the spiral staircase and had her picture taken with Ariel. We didn't know if she would do it but she ran up and gave her two big hugs! Breakfast was served family style and was really good. Ella met Cinderella, Snow White, Princess Minnie, and her favorite, Belle. She warmed up more and more as each character came by asking her if she wanted a picture.
We then headed back to Disneyland and enjoyed a day full of rides. We hit up Winnie the Pooh, It's A Small World, the carousel again, the Disneyland railroad choo choo train, and Mad Hatter teacups. Miss Priss had so much fun she passed out at about 2:30 so we didn't go to the Tinkerbell or Peter Pan rides we had planned on riding. We walked around while she slept and then went to ESPN Zone to watch the Grizzlies game. Later, we headed back to Downtown Disney, walked around, listened to bands and watched people dancing. Ella wanted popcorn so we found a kettle corn stand and she was in heaven! We had to pull the bag away from her at dinner (we ate at Rainforest Cafe).
Did I mention that the World Premiere of The Pirates of the Carribean On Stranger Tides was at Disneyland Saturday? They closed the park early for it. Main Street (the entry to Disneyland) was completely blocked off so you can imagine the chaos as we all had 1 lane on either side of the street to travel on. Don't get me wrong - the set-up was pretty cool! But, people camping out from the wee hours of the morning until the evening premiere was insane! There were Johnny Depp look alikes everywhere! When we were headed out later in the day, the crowds were growing and interviews beginning. It was neat to see all the media outlets there from E! to Insider Edition.
In no particular order...
