Ella: Star of the Week

The week of December 2nd, Ella was Star of the Week. I was secretly hoping she would have the chance at this before we move and ironically, her teachers picked her on her last week. She worked really hard on her projects. We went to Michael's and picked out the supplies for her poster. She cut out the letters of her name all by herself, positioned and glued most of the pictures, and bedazzled it with all sorts of sparkly stickers. She was so proud to take it in on Monday she had a hard time going to sleep on Sunday.

On Monday, she shared her poster along with two pictures - one of her wearing her orca whale hat while on a boat on the border of WA and Canada watching the J, K, and L orca pods and the other of she and her aunt Emily on Emily's wedding day.

On Tuesday, she shared her Pinkalicious Christmas book and the teacher read it to the class.

On Wednesday, she shared her journal. One thing I forgot to mention is that Ella loves to write in journals. She has so many and uses them all!

On Thursday, she shared The Grinch That Stole Christmas - both the cartoon and newer version.

And, on her final day, we brought in breakfast - muffins, fruit, and apple juice -  as well as the goodie bags she made for her friends. She was so excited to pass them out at circle time.

I love her and her sweet heart!

These Two

Our munchkins continue to keep us busy!

Ella:
- No surprise that she continues to thrive in school. As her teachers and the director said "she's ready for Kindergarten." She's my creative one. Her cubby is filled with artwork each day. And, of course, I keep 95% of it. Needless to say, her art file is quite large!

- She's getting so tall. She's 41 inches and weighs around 35 lbs or so. Long and lean! However, even 4T dresses are too short on her which is causing some issues in the clothing department at times.

- She loves her sweets. Any and all of it!

- When you ask her what her favorite princess is, she'll tell you "all of them."

- She loves watching YouTube videos of Disney - Sofia, Jake, live Disneyland/world shows, you name it.

- She's a movie lover. She has quite a large physical DVD collection. And, that's ok with me because I love the classics, too.

- Still a super picky eater. The only vegetable she eats are the little cherry tomatoes that come in the yellow container with clear top (you know, those ones). But, it's not even really a veggie.

- She loves to read her kids bible and learn about God and Jesus.

- She loves books, especially her Pinkalicious collection.

- Of course, she loves being outside - whether it's our backyard, pool, or park.

- Some days, she likes to put her makeup on (a little blush and lip gloss).

Some funny sayings:

When discussing what toys she wants for Christmas - "I'm still deciding. There's just so many options. Everything is so cool and I want everything."

I love swallowing gum because my mouth entertains it.

Kellen is quite opposite of his big sister.

- He loves most food but really isn't a meat eater.

- He's 29 inches tall and roughly 26 lbs.

- He is SUPER active; a climber, thrower, screamer, giggle monster, fast runner, biter, you name it - he does it all!

- His vocabulary is lagging but some newer words he says are things like "Ewa" for Ella, touchdown, ball, "woof woof" for Otis, momma, he'll put his finger over his mouth and say "shhhh," etc.

- He knows what timeout is because yes, he's 18 months and already in timeout most days. It's the 2nd stair and when you tell him to go sit there, he will head towards the stairs.

- He loves baths. You say "bath" and he runs towards the stairs.

- He loves anything that moves. Outside of his school, they are building a new development. There are tons of bulldozers laying out the land and he loves watching them.

- He loves watching the garbage man come by. We wave when we have the chance to do so.

- His teachers agree he's a mess but say he has the sweetest personality. I agree.

- He loves to snuggle.

- Unlike his sister, he likes to carry a blankie around and loves his monkey. I love this! Little Linus.

- Everything these days sounds like "mama" whether he's signing milk, pointing at something while we're driving, calling my name, etc.

- He continues to love to dance. He also enjoys play doh - it's the only time I see him sit still.

- He loves to be chased. He's fast! And, he likes wrestling with his Otis!

- I know he's super young, but this kid has an arm! He also doesn't know his own strength and likes to tackle his friends when he wants something they have. Future athlete for sure.

They are growing up way too fast!!
