Sissy & Brother are growing way too fast. As my Mom always says, Kellen didn't stay a baby for very long. And, she's right. Ella is 4 going on 16 and I cannot believe how much she has grown in the 6 months we have been here!
Kellen is our so easy going. Even when Ella is bopping him upside the head or pushing him over he just takes it. And, then he continues to follow her. I would run away! But, he sure does look up to his big sister. He's also our little ham. He loves to be silly, make you laugh, dance, you name it. I hope he stays this way!
Ella continues to be Ms. Independent. Her imagination runs wild and so does her mouth. Julie Grodrian - she's like you (love you:))!!!!! I think I might have your daughter:) She NEVER stops talking. It wears me out. Her vocabulary is off the charts. I don't know where she comes up with some of the words and stories she shares.
Both love to swim. Ella is starting to be more adventurous. She's putting her head underwater and even is swimming by herself at times. Kellen - where do I start with him. You cannot take your eye off him for even a millisecond. He is fearless. In the baby pool, he isn't afraid to go completely under and when he does, he doesn't even try to show any kind of signs of help. It's actually scary. He ran full force with a small leap into the baby pool last weekend and Brian caught him in mid air. So, we have to watch him like a hawk and he will be going to swim lessons with his sister. He will learn super early!
Some fun things about K:
- He loves to talk. He says "mama," "dada," "ball," "baba," "ewa" for Ella, hi, bye, oh, uh oh, and a bunch of babble.
- He loves to point.
- The poor kid loves his warm bottle or "baba." As much as I know he doesn't need to have them anymore, I'm having a hard time cutting them off.
- He's a sleeper. Both kids are and always have been. No early mornings for us ever!
- He loves balls. Kicking them and throwing them, especially in our rose bushes. Ouch. - He loves our phones. He'll place it behind his ear instead of on his ear and say hello.
- He loves following his Daddy everywhere.
- He's the BEST dancer. Anytime music is on, he's in full groove. The boy's got moves!
- And of course, he loves to play with all of sissy's things. That doesn't always go too well.
And, Miss Ella:
- I tried to hold off as long as I could, but she loves Spongebob. Obsessed!
- She's my little artist. Always drawing!
- Her favorite place on the playground is the monkey bars. She showed me yesterday and she is a little monkey on those. I think it's time for gymnastics!
- She loves her dance class at school. She'll come home, show me her new moves, and we'll have little dance parties. Of course, Brother is right in the middle dancing.
- She loves to write. She has several journals and can write out her full name, even if the letters aren't all in the correct order. She can also right the full alphabet.
- She learns some Spanish at school and I overhear her at home either speaking it or singing to herself. I'm learning from her these days!
- She's long and lean and a super fast runner. She likes to show us her sprints.
- 9 out of 10 times, when she picks out her clothes, it's a dress. She's such a girly girl and of course, I love it!
- She wants EVERYTHING! That's the bad thing about TV and commercials. I bet she asks for 15 things a night. Exhausting!
- She's still in love with "all the Princesses" and talks about Disneyland constantly.
- She's my little helper. I'm so thankful she loves to help. Some of her favorites include windexing anything and everything (even if it results in puddles because she sprays too much) and making her bed.
Ella-isms:
- Mommy, yesterday I saw a DJ at school....a type of bird.
- Guess what? I don't yawn anymore. Can you believe how magical it is that I don't yawn anymore?
- E: [watching a commercial] Mom, check out this roller coaster. It goes upside down. Will you take me on this ride.
Me: When you're older.
E: Ok. It's called Six Planes and it's far away on an island. YOu have to take a plane to get there.
- After I sang terribly and asked if Ella thought I sounded good she says to me....I think everything you do is beautiful.
- That's why I wanted you to be a Mom, so you could hear my rap songs [no clue what that was about].
- Mom, the house is starting to look really pretty [that's my girl!].
- I travel way more than I would like and of course, spend a small fortune bringing the kids home presents each time. Recently, I bought Ella a pug stuffed animal and asked her what she was going to name it. Her response "Skippyjonjoe Carmickle."
We were pretty busy 4th of July weekend. Festivities included Rockin' in the Plaza - Michael Jackson cover band style, Danville 4th of July parade, the Alameda County Fair and lots of pool time.
