Check These Babies Out

Is that not the cutest thing ever?! You can see 7 out of 8 that are there:)

Day Off

Today, we all took a day off from our stressful lives - no work for me or Brian and no school for Ella (well, it's not stressful for her; she loves it). We slept in, Brian and I worked out, and then we headed to Woodinville to have dinner at Red Hook Brewery. Now, I'm trying to convince Brian to go get us waffle cones. It's his turn since I went earlier this week for us:)

Ella and I took pictures while I tried to get her dressed...

First of all, what is this?! Who does he think he is lying on her lounge chair.

Sticking her tongue out at me

Filing Taxes

Taxes are BOOOORRRRING! Glad I played on the computer while Brian and Ella worked on them.

Ella was starting to agree with me too.

Cindy Lou Who

On Wednesday morning, I decided to give Ella Grace a do for school. Below is what I came up with. At first, I thought she looked completely ridiculous and I kind of felt bad for her. But, after looking at her a few minutes, it seemed very fitting for her personality. Her teachers loved it and said they were going to take pictures of her.

That night I had a vendor dinner so I didn't get to see her, but Brian said the teachers changed things up, gave her pig tails, and she came home with like 3 hair horns sticking out of her head.

Giving me the "please don't do this to me" look

Warming up to it a bit as she's distracted by her breakfast of champions meal - whole wheat waffle and bananas!

Rather Be

Ella Grace would rather be naked; she's most happy with no clothes on. Not kidding. I think Seattle is getting to her - our little hippie. I'm ok with it for now, but if she continues this, we'll have to have some serious discussions. Haha!

The clip her teacher put in her hair. This week, she came home with a new one each day.

Oldy But Goody

Back in December, I posted about the Holiday party we had with Ella Grace and her friends and teachers from her 1st daycare she attended - YWCA. I now have some pictures to share with you:)

We can't wait until Spring for our next get together. It'll be nice to have a picnic outside and most of the kids will be walking by then!

Henry & Angelique - they are both a little older than Ella. Ella was the 2nd to last baby to attend YWCA:( As I mentioned, the center was closed 12.31.09 after over 20 years of service. Very sad for all of us!

Dishes Delicious

T-R-O-U-B-L-E! I was washing dishes and even though Ella Grace was close by, I wasn't paying much attention to what she was getting into. I looked down and this is what I found...

Cute School Report

Ella's daily school reports are usually very humorous. We've had funnier ones but I always throw them away before I can share the story with you. Here is one I hadn't thrown away yet - from yesterday, 1.21.

Raw message, no editing:

"Ella is very sad during her outside walk today. When she comes back w/ short nap, she is better. She helps Wesley to empty all our books off from the shelf & walk away w/ the mess:) She took Quyenie at least 40 minutes to help with her nap. She sings, wiggles her bottom, clapping her hands, finally nap. She took also two hrs. nap & happy."

Cute, huh?! By the way, she and Wesley have been joining the "waddlers" more frequently since they will both be moving to that room soon (Ella may move up 1-2 months early based on her development:)). Lately, they have been including them on their daily walks which consist of being pushed in a 9-12 seater buggy (very cute!) around the city. Ella was unhappy because she was tired. I was told by her teacher that once she started to doze off, Spencer, who was sitting beside her, would nudge her, wake her up, and make her cry. Haha! So funny! We have a very strong-willed child. Wonder who she got that from?!

Anyway, below is a video of Ella Grace shaking her tail feathers.

Miscounted!

Quick update -

I miscounted! Ella Grace has 6 teeth coming in, not 4! I found two more tonight! Eeks! No wonder she's been a bit fussy. So quick recap here - she has 2 butter beans coming in (1 showing and 1 making it's way through the gum), 1 on each side of her butter beans (1 showing and 1 peaking out a little), and now 2 on the bottom (1 on either side of her two middle ones).

I know nothing about teeth so this is the best I can do to describe what's happening here. I'm sure you'll figure it all out:)

Ok, gotta go. Ella just tried fig newtons, yum! And we're off to go play before bed.

Happy 9 Months Doodle Noodle

It's that time again! Another month, a baby turning into a little girl, a lot of new and fun things to tell you about! Ella Grace is now 9 months old! Wow!

Fun updates:
  • I go out of town for 4 days....Ella has FOUR teeth come in! Can you believe it? All at the same time! One of her butter beans is really starting to show, her other is about to break through the skin, and a tooth on either side of her butter beans are starting to peak out. Poor little thing but she's been a great sport!
See them?!
  • We bought her 1st pair of shoes while we were home for Christmas. She looks so cute in them and I really think they help her with her walking.
  • She now pushes her little grocery cart back and forth and gets so frustrated when she can't turn it around and push it back. We have to help her with that:)

  • Her vocabulary is expanding. While I was gone, she started talking baby jibberish. We went from "dada" and "baba" to "dideren" or something like that. It's really cute! AND, tonight we heard her say "mama" twice! She's getting there!
  • She loves music; especially the theme song to The Office. Every time it comes on, she stops what she's doing and stares at the TV. Every now and then she'll bounce up and down.
  • More about music...she has all sorts of instruments at school and home to play with and it's so fun to watch her play with them, clap, and do her little bouncing dances. At school, they have a lady come in every Friday to play and sing music for her class. They say she absolutely loves it! She loves "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star."
  • She loves school! Her best friend is Wesley and every time the baby gate gets left open, I've been told that they crawl full speed and sneak out of the room. Haha! Little trouble makers.
  • One of the teacher's comments from school this week was "Ella loves to help the little children when they're crying. She pats them and tries to calm them down. She crawled over one and made them cry even more. She really loves to help out her friends." Not exact words b/c I threw away her daily report but it was really funny.
  • She has such a personality. She really is super silly and her teachers say she makes them laugh a lot.
  • She loves to crawl after Otis, grab his paws, and pet (aka slam her hands) him. He still doesn't really care for her.
  • She loves bathtime. I think we're going to have us a little water baby this summer.
She scratched her poor little face

Other stuff:
  • She still wears size 3 diapers.
  • She's our little night owl. Her bedtime ranges from 8:15-10 p.m. and we pretty much have to wake her up every morning. She loves to sleep!
  • She now sleeps on her side and tummy and usually wakes up opposite or sideways from where we put her in the bed.
  • She eats a lot of different foods now. I just filled out her daily food menu for school and she will start eating anything from grilled cheese sandwich to baked ziti to fruit with yogurt dip. She's going to love that b/c we're not that creative at home.
I'm sure there's so much more to share but it's not coming to me right now. What matters is we love her to death, can't imagine what life was like before her, and enjoy watching her grow into a little girl. Time flies way too fast!

Little Lady

While I was gone, thankfully my sister flew out to Seattle to help Brian with Ella Grace and Otis. Emily took about 200 pictures of her:) Below are some I pulled from her Facebook album. Doesn't she look like a little girl now?
