After 2 years of living 2400 miles away from family and friends, it's about time we start a blog to keep everyone updated on what's going on in our lives here in Seattle.
We're enjoying what's left of summer (it just started July 4!) and have fun bike riding, hanging out at Alki beach or just sitting on our deck watching the cruise and cargo ships sail by in the distance.
We've also met 3 amazing people who were actually introduced to us by one of my friends, Jessie, who was out here visiting me. She knew them from when they lived in South Carolina. Kelly and Travis moved here from Charleston. Their best friend, Rob, moved to Seattle shortly after they moved here. All of them are originally from Austin. I've only known them since March but feel like we've been friends for years. They're awesome. Below is a picture of me and Kelly.
We're looking forward to our family coming to Seattle for the first time. My parents, brother and sister will arrive Labor Day weekend. Among our plans is to see the Dave Matthews Band show at The Gorge. For those who haven't been to The Gorge, it's an amazing experience!
We're also counting down the days until we FINALLY get to see our friends for the first time in a year! We'll be in Knoxville Sept. 18th for the UT vs. FL game. Can't wait!
Other than that, life at Amazon.com is going well for the both of us. I can't believe that I am less than a month away from my year anniversary with the company. Time flies! I feel like the pace there and what I've learned so far is equivalent to 8 years at any other company. I guess that's a good thing!
